Pastor Glenn Reeder

Senior Pastor

Pastor Glenn was born and raised in Hamilton, ON. His first employment was delivering newspapers for the Globe & Mail, and the Hamilton Spectator. After high school graduation Glenn entered the Bachelor of Theology (Honours) degree program at Canadian Nazarene College in Winnipeg, Manitoba (now Canadian Nazarene University College located in Calgary, Alberta). He and Dorothy Wilson were married in 1975 the year before Glenn graduated from College. After graduation he and Dorothy moved to Kansas City, MO where Glenn began the Master of Divinity degree at Nazarene Theological Seminary. He graduated in 1979 and began his first pastorate at the Altona Road Church of the Nazarene in Pickering, Ontario. While pastoring the congregation there for five and one half years Glenn was ordained an elder in the Church of the Nazarene. In 1985 they moved to Cambridge, ON where he was pastor until 1996. For the next five years Glenn was self-employed and part-time Youth Pastor at the Brantford Church of the Nazarene. In 2001 they moved to Summerside, PE to begin his third full time pastorate.

During his years of ministry in the Church of the Nazarene, Glenn has served on District Camp Boards, District Advisory Boards, District NYI Councils (served as District NYI President for two interim terms), directed Jr. High and Sr. High Camps at Valley Haven Camp in Ontario, was Canada Central District Nazarene Youth Congress (NYC) coordinator in 1991, was MTO painting consultant for NYC ’99 in Toronto. He attended the Small Church Institute in St. Louis, Missouri for four years, and has attended the C-Church Conferences in Calgary, Alberta.  He is completing his fourth year as the District Chair of the Canada Atlantic Board of Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries International and is the current President of the Summerside Christian Council.

Pastor Glenn invited Jesus into his heart as a young child at the Hamilton First Church of the Nazarene. While a student in college he became aware of his need to surrender to the Lordship of Jesus and welcomed the deeper cleansing of his life by the Holy Spirit. His life verse is found in Philippians 3:13b-14, "but one thing I do, forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." (RSV).

Glenn and Dorothy have two children, Julia and Luke. Julia is a graduate, with honours, of Bishops University in Lennoxville, QC.  She and Richard were married in 2003 and now make their home in a small community on the outskirts of Calgary, Alberta.  Life changed for them in March 2006 when Caydence Elizabeth was born, bringing the first great grandchild into the Reeder family.  It changed again in October 2008 when Bronwynn Aishwarya became a baby sister to Caydence.  Both granddaughters adore their NannyD and SuperPop.  Luke graduated in 2007 with his Bachelor of Music Degree from Canadian Nazarene University College (Ambrose University College).  He toured with the College Chorale in Hungary and Vienna in May 2006 and currently teaches English in South Korea.
