We Welcome You To Our Church
What we believe...
The Core Doctrinal Tenets (Articles of Faith) as found in the Manual of the Church of the Nazarene:
- The Triune God: Belief in one eternal God existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- Jesus Christ: Belief that Jesus is fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, died for our sins, and rose again.
- The Holy Spirit: Belief that the Holy Spirit is ever-present and active in the world, convicting people of sin and empowering believers.
- The Holy Scriptures: The Bible is the inspired Word of God and contains all truth necessary for faith and Christian living.
- Sin, Original and Personal: Recognition that humanity is fallen (Original Sin) and that individuals also commit personal acts of sin.
- Atonement: Jesus’ death was for the whole human race; anyone who repents and believes can be saved.
- Prevenient Grace: God’s grace goes before us, enabling us to respond to Him even before we are saved.
- Repentance: A sincere turning away from sin toward God.
- Justification, Regeneration, and Adoption: When we believe, God forgives us (Justification), gives us new life (Regeneration), and brings us into His family (Adoption).
- Entire Sanctification: This is the distinctive Nazarene belief. It is a “second work of grace” where the Holy Spirit cleanses the heart from original sin and empowers the believer to love God and others fully.
- The Church: The body of believers called to worship together and spread the Gospel.
- Baptism: A sacrament signifying the new birth; the church practices both infant and believer’s baptism.
- The Lord’s Supper: A sacrament of communion open to all who have faith in Christ.
- Divine Healing: Belief that God can and does heal the sick, though they also support the use of medical science.
- Second Coming of Christ: Belief that Jesus will return, the dead will be raised, and a final judgment will occur.
- Resurrection, Judgment, and Destiny: Every person will face judgment; the righteous will have eternal life, and the unrepentant will be eternally lost.
Better a little with the fear of the LORD than great wealth with turmoil.
